Top 10 Tips for Lake Pointe Residents1. Have a household budget.
We believe in the prosperity of our residents at Lake Pointe. A household budget will give you a written cash flow plan to manage your income and expenses. Recommended recourse: Dave Ramsey 2. Pay your condo fees which is $290 per month. Pay assessments every month by the 15th, or better yet in advance. Condo fees help pay for capital improvements as well as routine services such as landscaping, electricity, maintenance and community beautification. 3. Get renters insurance and HO 6 insurance. Renters insurance protects your personal valuables such as jewelry and furniture. HO 6 insurance will cover losses to the structure of your unit from unfortunate disasters. Contact licensed insurance provider for questions. 4. Get to know your neighbors. Familiarize yourself with names and faces, especially those in your building. Do not let individuals you do not recognize into the building and report any suspicious activity. Email teamlakepointe@gmail.com to find out who your building captain is. 5. Hire only certified, licensed & insured worker and/or technicians. Have a certified HVAC technician inspect your plumbing, heating and air-conditioning as well as your drain pipe in your AC Unit from condensation at least once a year. Uncertified workers have cost Lake Pointe residents thousands of dollars in damages. This is the one area you do not want to cut corners. 6. Put your trash inside the trash container. Please be sure to ALWAYS put the trash inside of the trash receptacles, never on the ground. If your children take out the trash, please monitor them to ensure that they do the same. We want to maintain the aesthetic beauty of the community and besides we don't want "uninvited residents". It is important to maintain proper temperature in the winter months by keeping your heat on. A lot of piping is outside where the water tank coils and pipes are exposed to cold temperatures. Pipe covers provide added protection during cold , but be sure to keep your heat on during cold months and if you will be away for an extended period of time, consider notifying a neighbor and/or the board and leaving a contact number in case of an emergency. Please also alert management of any vacant units. 8. Be respectful of your neighbors. In a multi-unit building such as ours, we literally live on top of each other. Follow the golden rule, "Do unto others as you wish others to do unto you." Please respect your neighbors. 9. Please clean up after your pet. Our common areas are for all to enjoy. Please help us keep it that way. 10. Get involved in your community! One great way to get involved is to attend Board Meetings. The Board has their meetings open to the public to promote transparency and to encourage community involvement. Also consider joining or even forming a committee. We have multiple committees including the budget committee and Lake Pointe Day committee. This is our community and it's important to be informed and make your voices heard so that Lake Pointe continues to be a beautiful, thriving place to live. |
